I worked for DFY back in the 90's and worked under this name about 2 years ago. I was a new Employee at McCormick, and it was a lot of things not done by policy and the administration there allowed it. I witness something by a counselor that was there for over 25 years, and told him I wanted no parts of that, and the administration along with a few of the kids set me up.
I was lied on and fired for something I did not do. I filed a grievance with this office and the EEOC and nothing was done. I was told I was under investigation for two months and was put on administrative leave, and when I called the Justice Department, I was told that the report was not taken, it wasn't not a reportable incident. I was told after the report I filed to have an investigation done, that I had to file a lawsuit federally, and now I cannot get a job in the state due to this incident.
I later find out that after the investigation by the EEOC was done the Director was walked out. The Director at that facility would call kids on there outside line and ask them questions about what staff was doing on the units, in return would give certain kids special privileges that they did not earn. It was a vey violent environment, and the staff had no support, you were constantly told by other staff to watch your back because as a worker you had no support.
I was put in a situation where another Unit was let out when I was with a unit and a Riot occurred, and me and another staff for about 5 minutes had to attempt to break up fights before assistance came. This was a horrible experience. I have degrees and have counseling background and did not fill that my skills could be utilized to help, and instead of listening to me in regards to what I was saying I was disregarded and let go!
