Online meetings - We are still conducting meetings over the phone, or via Teams, Zoom online meeting software. Remote working - All our staff are now able to work from home and have full access to remote working capabilities, so we can continue to support you from any location should we need to close the office, again. Income Protection pays a proportion of your normal earnings if you can't work owing to accident, illness or disability. Otherwise, you may be unable to meet your regular commitments, such as mortgage and other regular payments. After a deferred period, typically 13 or 26 weeks, your policy will pay a regular income until it terminates, you return to work, or retire. Plans can also be arranged to cover particular liabilities over specific timescales, or provide changing cover on a whole of life basis.
This is a tax-efficient way to invest in your retirement because HM Revenue and Customs adds basic rate tax relief to any payment you make into your plan. Retirement income will depend on fund value and other economic factors, including inflation. For example, if you make a payment of 160, HM Treasury will add 40, so the total amount invested is 200. You can invest regularly or make one-off payments as and when you want. In each tax year, you can contribute up to 100% of your earnings, although a tax charge may apply if you exceed the Annual Allowance, which is currently 40,000.
There's no limit on your total NISA holding, so you can top-up to an existing Cash ISAs, a Stocks & Shares ISAs, or both. You can split your investment in any ratio you choose, as long as your 2018-19 investments don't exceed 20,000 per person. Your annual allowance is available only until the end of the tax year and doesn't roll over. So, to take maximum advantage of your allowance, you need to invest early in the tax year. But, if you don't want to invest your full allowance at the start of the year, you can always make further investments within your allowance at any time before the tax year ends.
